Going Gluten and Casein Free - Does This Diet Affect Those with Autism?
Thank you Indy's Child Magazine for the opportunity to speak on the GFCF diet as an option for assisting those with autism (article link here).
Contrary to what many still believe (also noted in the article), the gut-brain connection has been positively demonstrated in several studies over the years. One particular study, "The Possibility and Probability of a Gut-to-Brain Connection in Autism" published by Reichelt et. al. in 2009 can be referenced at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19917211.

Nutty Bakery – Delicious Baked Goods for those following SCD, Paleo, and GAPS diets
I was recently introduced to the
Nutty Bakery, a wonderful local online bakery based in New Castle,
Indiana. The Nutty Bakery specializes in
offering a variety of baked goods for those following The Specific Carbohydrate
Diet, GAPS Diet, and Paleo Diet*. The bakery
operates mostly from online orders and ships goodies to clients all over the
United States. Amy Ervin, owner of the
Nutty Bakery, developed her concept to provide much needed options based on her
personal journey with her child affected by autism. She now creates delicious cookies, cakes, and
breads so others can enjoy her specialized diet friendly creations.
The quality of the Nutty Bakery’s products are top-notch and are sure
to be a treat for those following specialized diets, suffering from food
allergies or sensitivities, or are just wanting a new great tasting baked good
option.

I have sampled many of the Nutty Bakery’s products - among my favorites
are the Cardamom Cookies, Honey Almond Clusters, and Pecan Shortbreads.
Additionally, the Nutty Bakery takes great pride in purchasing many ingredients from local Indiana farmers and meets strict Indiana state and county health regulations. Additional information regarding the Nutty Bakery, including products, ordering, and shipping information can be found on their web site www.nuttybakery.com.
